Pushing the boundaries of materials, processes, and design while striving to enhance sustainability is what ACM CRC is all about, in its quest to reposition Australia’s composites manufacturing capability with next-generation cost and technology competitiveness.
“We’re working hard to reduce import dependency, penetrate export markets, increase sustainability, shorten prototyping lifecycles and create an accelerated automated composites manufacturing capacity,” said Professor Ganga Prusty, ACM CRC’s Director of Research.
“With the composite materials market being a large and rapidly expanding sector of the global economy, sporting a forecast compound annual growth of 7.6% (2020 to 2027), Australia needs to take its place as a leader,” he continued.
Professor Prusty will be attending the conference in February to explore further ideas that may support the CRC’s mission.
“This conference closely represents what we’re trying to achieve within the CRC,“ said Professor Prusty.
“I look across our four research programs – Composite Materials; Manufacturing Processes; Simulation, Performance Prediction; and Design, Integration – and straight away I see synergies between our research goals and those being discussed at this event.
I’m excited to see what innovations, methodologies, and discoveries ACAM will offer, and how potential collaboration with ACM CRC may enable the greater Australian composite materials market to become faster, stronger, and leaner.”
Catch Professor Ganga Prusty at ACAM 2024 from 7-9 February, where he’d be delighted to answer any questions you may have around the CRC’s research and projected impact, and discuss potential opportunities for collaboration.
